Triumph Demo Ride?

About two months ago, I looked at the Triumph web site for the Demo Truck schedule, and noticed that it would be closest to me on August 26th in Lexington, KY. So, I put it on my schedule and asked my friends if they wanted to ride down to Lexington, KY, to test ride a Triumph. As the day approached, their schedules inhibited their ride, but mine was wide open.

So, I donned my gear and set out to test ride a couple of Triumphs that have been on my radar screen.

It was a great ride on my V-Strom.

I am missing you again

Sojourn Poetry

You backed out the drive, turned the wheels,
put it in drive and started out the neighborhood.

I gave a “missing you already” wave,
and you gave one back.

Our business and travels have kept us apart,
but our hearts and spirits are one.

For soul mates such as us, there is no parting,
only a missing piece.

Temperature change

Sojourn Poetry

Colorado-camping-23

The coolness of the high altitude campground
required layers of clothing for warmth.
Packed and ready, I motorcycled down
the mountain on a gravel road towards civilization.

The warmth of the valley provided only a temporary
relief from the coolness, for the mountain pass lay ahead.
RVs and semi trucks lumbered up the steep grade
as the coolness returned and dropped even colder.

At the top of Monarch Pass, I did not stop.
I motored on towards lower altitude
and warmer temperatures.
Finally, I was able to remove layers of clothing.

Miles later, on the eastern plains of Colorado,
I motored through the town of Lamar
and noticed the sign on the bank
flashing time and a temperature of 102 degrees.
